Normal Bicycles was founded in 2017 by Jess and Chris Kudla to challenge the idea of what is normal. Their innovative frame design pairs the strength and stiffness of carbon fiber with the vibration-soaking qualities of wood, resulting in a performance-oriented frame that can be ridden all day long. The frames are handmade in their small workshop on Vashon Island, Washington, with the style, geometry, and wood tailored to each individual rider.
“We ride as a mode of transport, form of exercise, and a mental reset, with our preferred routes taking us off the beaten path. Our ideal rides include a lot of wandering and exploring of new places, and this is what we design for in our bikes. Between the two of us we’ve spent our careers focused on business, technology, engineering, and sustainability, and Normal Bicycles is the culmination of our passion and experience.”
